The international scientific conference “Urtyn duu – Üv-Erdene” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Mongolian urtyn singer, famous figure of folk art, and leading urtyn singer of the century, Jigzav Dorjdagv, successfully concluded today at the Art Hall of the Teachers’ School of the Mongolian University of Education.
This conference was organized with the aim of:
Researching and disseminating the cultural heritage, historical development, and characteristics of Mongolian national urtyn
Passing on the great artistic heritage of J. Dorjdagv to future generations
Contributing to the traditional and modern development of urtyn.

J. Dorjdagva's descendants and relatives
participated extensively, gave presentations, and enriched the conference with artistic and cultural performances, further enhancing the importance of the meeting.
J. Dorjdagva was born in 1904 in the Gobi Tushe district of Tusheet Khan aimag, now in Saikhan-Ovoo soum of Dundgovi aimag, and was a valuable artist who created, sang, studied, and taught the great heritage of national urty singing in the 20th century. Representatives of his students, representatives of generations of urty singers, and scholars presented their academic presentations on this day and honored his legacy.
